Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant difference emerges between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it may indicate disagreement about the likelihood of a particular result. Examining these discrepancies can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about the second half result of the Cambuur-AZ match. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts, providing a real-time assessment of the expected outcome. The current price indicates what the collective market believes is the likelihood of a specific result occurring during the second half.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden versus AZ match. The platform will verify the result against official sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will not.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden or AZ could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Furthermore, live game events during the first half, such as goals scored or red cards issued, will likely cause significant price movement as traders react to the evolving situation. Overall match form and recent performance of key players are also potential catalysts.
