Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probabilities as perceived by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and changing sentiment, potentially offering more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as more volume accumulates.
