Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s odds are driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about which team will score first. If a significant number of traders believe Sanfrecce Hiroshima is more likely to score first, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially surpassing what’s available at a sportsbook. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially when there’s strong public information or a clear edge to be found.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in Sanfrecce Hiroshima scoring first, the price of those shares increases, and the implied probability rises. Conversely, selling shares decreases the price and probability. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Sanfrecce Hiroshima vs. Kyōto Sanga match. The official match records will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any potential delays or postponements of the match may affect the resolution timeline, but the market will be settled as soon as a definitive result is available and publicly confirmed.
