The market evaluates whether Brock Purdy will throw a certain number of passing touchdowns in an upcoming football game between San Francisco and Atlanta. The outcome depends on Purdy's performance during the game, specifically how many touchdowns he throws through the air.
These markets resolve based on the total number of passing touchdowns Brock Purdy records in the San Francisco vs Atlanta Pro Football game originally scheduled for Oct 25, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (1+, 2+, 3+, 4+, or 5+ passing touchdowns). If Purdy meets or exceeds the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. The contracts are designated as protected: if Purdy participates in at least one play during the first half but not after, the contract resolves to the fair price prior to kickoff unless the required touchdowns are recorded, in which case it settles based on actual statistics. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates remains subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion, and the event uses at least full game passing touchdowns including overtime. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts, offering potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes – in this case, the total number of passing touchdowns. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, creating a real-time assessment of the likely outcome. The market depth shows the available contracts at different price points, indicating the level of buying and selling interest.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final number of passing touchdowns scored in the game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and objective result. Traders will be able to see the final outcome and the payout amounts for their contracts shortly after the game concludes and the official statistics are released.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries, particularly quarterbacks or wide receivers, would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, such as strong winds or heavy rain, could also impact the expected number of passing touchdowns. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic shifts could also play a role. Finally, public perception and betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks can influence trader behavior and subsequently move this market.
