This set of markets tracks how many points each team will score in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold for one of the teams, determining whether they will exceed that threshold during the game.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals of Jacksonville State and Sam Houston in their college football game scheduled for November 7, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated point threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often incorporating information and analysis not immediately priced into traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on power ratings and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to faster adjustments based on new information. It is common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new developments emerge closer to the event. However, both aim to accurately predict the outcome, and the comparison can be insightful for informed decision-making.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the final team totals. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to aggregate information and reflect the collective intelligence of the participants. The current prices available on Kalshi represent the most up-to-date assessment of the likely team totals.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team totals from the Sam Houston vs Jacksonville St. game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The official scores reported by the governing athletic body will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contracts will pay out. The resolution process is designed to be objective and transparent, ensuring that the market accurately reflects the real-world result of the game. Traders will be able to view the final result on Kalshi after verification.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Sam Houston or Jacksonville St. would likely cause price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to high or low scoring, could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might prompt traders to reassess their predictions. Overall game previews and analysis from sports analysts could also sway market sentiment, leading to shifts in price.
