Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. As a result, prediction markets can sometimes provide more favorable odds, especially when there's significant disagreement between the 'wisdom of the crowd' and the sportsbook's initial assessment. It's common to see discrepancies as new information emerges and public opinion shifts, influencing the pricing within this market.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the event's potential results.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Salivonchyk vs. Maslovskyi match, as determined by the governing sports organization. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 11, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected performance in preceding matches could shift trader sentiment. Publicly released analysis from sports commentators and experts could also impact the market, particularly if it challenges prevailing expectations. Furthermore, significant betting activity – a large influx of volume on one particular outcome – could trigger a price movement, reflecting a change in perceived probability within this market.
