This set of markets tracks the point differential in a college football game between Sacramento State and Ball State, allowing participants to bet on various margins of victory for either team. Each market corresponds to a specific point spread threshold, determining whether the winning team exceeds that margin.
All markets resolve based on the official final result of the Sacramento State vs Ball State college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Ball State wins by a margin exceeding the specified threshold (ranging from 1.5 to 27.5 points), the corresponding "Ball State wins by over X points" market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Conversely, if Sacramento State wins by more than the specified threshold (ranging from 1.5 to 14.5 points), the corresponding "Sacramento State wins by over X points" market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For any game postponed but commenced within 48 hours of the original start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants under these conditions.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on internal models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it might suggest that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the spread. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that specific spread occurring. As more traders buy contracts indicating a particular outcome, the price of those contracts increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market constantly adjusts to new information and evolving sentiment, offering a real-time assessment of the likely game outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the Sacramento St. vs Ball St. game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by sports data providers, ensuring an objective determination of the winning or losing spread. Traders will then be paid out or have their contracts adjusted based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual game result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game takes place. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Sacramento St. or Ball St. teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to affect the playing conditions, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment and lead to price movements. Public perception and betting trends, as reflected in sportsbook lines, may also play a role.
