This set of markets focuses on predicting the point differential in the first half of a college football game between Sacramento State and Ball State. Each market corresponds to a specific margin of victory, allowing participants to bet on whether the winning team will exceed that margin within the first half of play.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the first half of the Sacramento State vs Ball State college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. For markets where Ball State is the favorite, resolution occurs if Ball State wins the first half by more than the specified point margin. Conversely, markets where Sacramento State is the favorite resolve if Sacramento State wins the first half by more than the designated margin. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the official first-half result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, all markets will resolve at a fair price, taking into account all known information up to that point. No markets consider the second half or final game outcome.
Generally, prediction markets like Kalshi often reflect information and insights differing from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by analysts aiming to balance action on both sides, while this market represents the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, risk assessments, or simply varying levels of public interest. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the first half spread. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that spread occurring. As more traders buy contracts predicting a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market constantly adjusts to incorporate new information and changing expectations, offering a real-time assessment of the likely outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the actual first half spread of the Sacramento St. vs Ball St. game, as reported by official sources. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on the incorrect spread will not. The final spread will be the determining factor for payout.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Sacramento St. or Ball St. would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could shift trader sentiment. Public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, can also contribute to fluctuations in this market.
