This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are caught by players during a college football game between Rutgers and Northwestern. Each market focuses on a specific threshold of receiving touchdowns for either team, determining whether they meet or exceed that number.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Rutgers vs Northwestern college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026, including any touchdowns scored in overtime. A receiving touchdown is defined as one where the player who catches the pass crosses the goal line with the ball. Touchdowns resulting from another player recovering a fumble by the intended receiver do not count, unless the receiver recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original kickoff time, the markets remain active and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines which are set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may initially incorporate biases or react quickly to news, whereas this market tends to aggregate information from a wider range of participants. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – the prices in this market will adjust, potentially converging with or diverging from sportsbook odds. It’s common to see prediction markets being more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially closer to the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of a team scoring a touchdown. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the implied probability of the outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth shows the available contracts at different price points, giving traders insight into the current supply and demand. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly reflect new information and changing expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on official game statistics documenting whether each team successfully scored touchdowns during the Rutgers versus Northwestern football game. The market will determine which teams scored touchdowns, and the final prices will reflect the accuracy of the collective predictions made by traders. The outcome will be based on official game data, not subjective interpretation.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Injury reports for key offensive players on either team would be a major catalyst, as would any changes in the projected weather conditions for the game. Unexpected news regarding team strategy or coaching decisions could also shift prices. Furthermore, late-breaking news about player availability or performance could influence trader behavior. Any significant information that alters perceptions of each team’s scoring potential is likely to cause movement in this market until resolution.
