This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. Each market focuses on a specific threshold of such scoring plays for either team. The outcomes depend purely on the game's offensive performance through the air.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either team during the Rutgers vs Maryland college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as a touchdown in which the player who catches the pass scores himself; touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble by the original receiver do not count, unless the receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the final official result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all referenced trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd,' potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It's common to see differences emerge, particularly as new information arises or public perception shifts. While sportsbooks may initially be more influenced by expert analysis, this market can quickly incorporate a wider range of factors and adapt to changing circumstances, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, a team scoring a touchdown. As more people buy contracts predicting a touchdown, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market constantly adjusts to reflect the collective intelligence of its participants. The current price reflects the aggregated predictions of all traders on Kalshi regarding the likelihood of touchdowns in the Rutgers vs Maryland game.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether each team scored at least one touchdown during the Rutgers vs Maryland game. Official game statistics and play-by-play data will be used to determine the outcome. The market will settle to 100 if a team scores a touchdown, and 0 if they do not. The final price will reflect the collective prediction of traders leading up to and including the game's completion.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries on either the Rutgers or Maryland teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is predicted, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might cause traders to reassess the probability of touchdowns being scored. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, could contribute to price movements in this market as traders react to new information.
