Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the Romania vs. Sweden first goal market tracks the implied probability of either team scoring the first goal, as reflected in the current trading prices. You’ll find a price history chart showing how these probabilities have shifted over time, along with the total volume traded in this market, currently at $449, and the 24-hour volume, which is $448. Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders on Predict, tends to reflect a more pure assessment of probabilities, though discrepancies can occur due to differing information or risk appetites. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds in accuracy, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded, as information aggregates quickly.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and place bets, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of either Romania or Sweden scoring first. The market efficiently incorporates new information as it becomes available, making the prices dynamic and responsive to changing conditions.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring the first goal in the Romania vs. Sweden match. Official match data will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any disputes regarding the first goalscorer will be resolved based on the official match records and rulings from the governing football association.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Romania or Sweden would likely cause significant shifts in probabilities. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact the market. Even broader factors, such as weather conditions expected on match day, or pre-game analysis from prominent football commentators, could sway trader sentiment and move the odds. Any unexpected developments leading up to kickoff have the potential to alter the perceived likelihood of either team scoring first.
