Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each player winning. If a significant number of traders believe a player has a higher chance of success than sportsbooks imply, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market, as information and opinions evolve. These differences can present opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome—in this case, either Nuno Borges or Adrian Mannarino winning the match. As more shares are bought for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of shares at any given moment represents the market’s current assessment of each player’s chances. This dynamic pricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
