Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and may adjust them based on betting action, but they also incorporate a profit margin. This market, driven by individual traders on Polymarket, aims to represent the true probability of an outcome as collectively assessed by participants. Discrepancies between prediction market prices and sportsbook lines can present potential opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from these differences in valuation.
