Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the odds on Polymarket in a different direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been wagered on either side, and as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. As more shares are bought for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating greater confidence. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continually adjust based on the collective intelligence of the traders participating.
This market resolves around Oct 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Roanne doubles match between Stevenson/Willis and Balshaw/Martineau. The platform will verify the result against publicly available sources to determine which team won the match and settle the market accordingly. Traders who held shares in the winning outcome will be paid out based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market.
