Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments and the incentive structures inherent in each type of betting venue. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the probability of that score occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that result. The market’s efficiency is driven by the incentive for traders to accurately assess the probability of each outcome and profit from any mispricing.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
