Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially differing from those set by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by individuals' willingness to buy or sell based on their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights into where the crowd sees value, and whether there’s an edge to be found.
