Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If a significant disparity exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that sportsbooks and prediction markets have different fee structures and cater to different types of bettors, which can influence the odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each exact score. As more shares are traded for a particular outcome, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. The market’s overall volume and trading activity influence the speed and magnitude of price movements, reflecting the collective intelligence of the traders participating in this market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Red Bull or Chapecoense would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to one team’s playing style, could also move the market. Unexpected announcements about team tactics or formations might also prompt traders to reassess their probabilities. Finally, any significant public sentiment shifts, reflected in analyst predictions or social media discussions, could impact trading activity and influence the odds.
