Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the teams' strengths. It's common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to new information or late-breaking news regarding team lineups or playing conditions.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in Valencia CF to score first, the price of those shares will increase, and the implied probability will rise accordingly. Conversely, increased trading activity favoring Real Racing Club will drive down the price of Valencia CF shares. This dynamic pricing reflects the evolving expectations of the crowd.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team—Real Racing Club or Valencia CF—scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The official match records will serve as the source for determining the winning outcome. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the result is officially confirmed and reflected on Polymarket.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Real Racing Club or Valencia CF would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact expectations. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from sports commentators and analysts, as well as any late-breaking team news announced shortly before kickoff, could all contribute to movements in the price of shares on Polymarket.
