Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit from margins, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular team’s chance of scoring first in the second half, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Real Betis or FC Barcelona will score first in the second half. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome, and fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe Real Betis will score first, the higher the price of those shares will climb, and vice versa for FC Barcelona. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of participants.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team – Real Betis or FC Barcelona – scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Any potential disputes will be handled according to Polymarket’s standard procedures for ensuring accurate resolution of events.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Real Betis or FC Barcelona would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also shift sentiment. Even general news about team morale or recent performance could impact trading. Additionally, any large trades on Polymarket itself could create momentum and influence the price of shares, reflecting a change in perceived probability.
