Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information sources and incentives. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but this market shows a more even split, it could indicate disagreement about factors not fully captured by sportsbooks, such as team morale or potential tactical shifts. It's valuable to compare both to form a well-rounded view of the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The market’s price isn’t determined by a central authority but emerges from the interactions of all participants. This dynamic pricing helps to create a highly informative signal about the potential result of the Real Betis vs. Osasuna second half.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team – Real Betis or CA Osasuna – scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The resolution will be based on official match data, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. The platform will rely on widely accepted sports data sources to confirm the outcome and distribute funds to winning shareholders. It’s important to note that any goals scored during stoppage time will be included in determining the first goal scorer.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Real Betis or CA Osasuna would likely cause price movement. Tactical announcements from either manager, such as a change in formation or starting lineup, could also shift trader sentiment. Even unexpected weather conditions on match day could play a role, potentially impacting the style of play and increasing the likelihood of a specific outcome. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public opinion, reflected in betting trends or expert analysis, could also move this market.
