Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven purely by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If there's a significant discrepancy, it might indicate that the crowd perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has a more informed participant base. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering different value than fixed-odds betting.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the event approaches, offering a forward-looking assessment of the potential result.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on which team scores more goals in the second half of the RCD Mallorca vs. UD Las Palmas match. The final score will be sourced from official match data and widely available sports news outlets. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result and their positions in this market.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in starting lineups, or even weather conditions impacting the match could shift trader sentiment. In-game events, such as early goals scored or red cards issued, will likely cause significant price fluctuations. Furthermore, broader trends in team performance or changes in public perception of either RCD Mallorca or UD Las Palmas could also play a role in how this market evolves leading up to Oct 11, 2026.
