Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective beliefs of individual traders. If prediction market participants have access to unique information or a different analytical approach, the probabilities here may diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly influences the market, or when there’s significant uncertainty surrounding the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate and place bets, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means the price of a share can fluctuate rapidly based on new information or changes in sentiment. The market’s efficiency stems from the incentive for traders to accurately assess the likelihood of each outcome, as they profit from correct predictions.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
