PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define the same resolution criteria, timeframe, and fallback data sources for determining the first team to score.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers (with fallback to Flashscore, then Sofascore, then consensus reporting).

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score during the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the outcome.
  • If neither team scores within the specified timeframe, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are explicitly excluded.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed.
  • Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore is used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore is used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting is used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50 (or to 'Draw' where applicable).
Timing: Resolution will occur after the completion of the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, and no later than 24 hours after the event's conclusion, subject to data availability. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to profit, while prediction markets allow bettors to act as oddsmakers themselves. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion diverges from expert analysis. While sportsbooks may initially set the line, the collective predictions in this market can dynamically adjust based on new information and changing sentiment, potentially revealing insights not immediately captured by fixed sportsbook lines.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Price discrepancies between Polymarket and Predict in the Celta vs. Juventus first-to-score market can arise from several factors. These platforms have different user bases, trading volumes, and risk appetites, all of which influence price discovery. Additionally, the liquidity available on each platform can vary, leading to price slippage and divergence. Different fee structures and market-making strategies employed by traders on Polymarket versus Predict also contribute to these variations. Finally, differing interpretations of available information and news surrounding the teams can impact trading decisions and, consequently, the prices observed on each platform.
