Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the underlying mechanisms of price discovery. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while prediction markets rely on the wisdom of the crowd. This market, for example, reflects the aggregated beliefs of individuals willing to put their capital at risk, potentially incorporating information not readily available to bookmakers. Furthermore, prediction markets typically have lower transaction costs and may offer different betting limits, influencing the observed prices. These differences can create arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.
