This market determines which running back will achieve the highest fantasy points in a specific week using a detailed point system that rewards various in-game performances including yards gained, touchdowns, receptions, and special teams contributions.
Each market resolves based on whether the specified player finishes highest in total full-PPR fantasy points for all running backs in Week 5 of the 2026 Pro Football regular season. Points are calculated using Sleeper's default full-PPR scoring system, which awards points for passing, rushing, receiving, kicking, and defensive/special teams performances. If a player does not participate in the week, they score zero points. In the event of a tie for the highest points, the market resolves to 1/N, where N is the number of tied players, and no holder receives $1 minus the Yes payout. All players are ranked by Sleeper, including those without a listed market, and player-group membership is determined by Sleeper at expiration.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and to balance action, while this market represents the collective belief of many individuals trading on Kalshi. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a wider range of perspectives considered in the prediction market. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each running back being the Week 5 leader. The price of a contract reflects the market’s current assessment of that outcome’s likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time view of expectations. The contracts are valued between 0 and 100, representing a percentage chance of the outcome occurring.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The running back with the highest fantasy point total for Week 5 of the NFL season, as calculated by a major fantasy football provider, will be considered the winner. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and standard fantasy scoring rules. Traders will then be paid out based on the final price of the contract they held for the winning player.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. News regarding injuries to key running backs will undoubtedly cause shifts in probabilities. Changes in team offensive strategies, such as increased or decreased usage of a particular player, could also move the market. Unexpected positive or negative performances in Week 4 could influence expectations for Week 5. Finally, any late-breaking news about matchups or weather conditions that might favor or hinder certain players could lead to substantial price adjustments in this market.
