Description

In the upcoming Ranji Trophy cricket match between Uttarakhand and Haryana, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Uttarakhand will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Uttarakhand. The outcome corresponding to Haryana will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Haryana. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the opinions of many individual traders. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between the two, as sportsbooks may incorporate biases or react more slowly to new information. Over time, the odds on Polymarket tend to converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and traders refine their assessments of the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player being the top batter. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more people buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently incorporates new information as it becomes available, adjusting probabilities based on trader activity and any relevant news or developments related to the players or the match itself. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.

This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the player officially recognized as scoring the most runs in the first innings of the Ranji Trophy match between Uttarakhand and Haryana will determine the winning outcome. The official match results, as published by the governing body of the Ranji Trophy, will serve as the basis for verification. Traders will be able to see the final result and claim their winnings based on the outcome.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to the playing lineup for either Uttarakhand or Haryana would likely cause shifts in the odds. Weather forecasts predicting significant disruptions to play could also influence the market, as they affect the amount of time players have to score runs. Furthermore, early performance in the match itself – for example, a strong start by a particular batter – will quickly be reflected in the trading activity on Polymarket, leading to price adjustments and potentially substantial movements in the probabilities.
