This market refers to the cricket match between Services and Bengal scheduled for October 18 2026 at 12:00 AM ET in Ranji Trophy. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market relies on the aggregated predictions of individuals. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially early in the market lifecycle or when significant information emerges. Examining these differences can provide valuable insights into public perception and potential value bets. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities and are subject to change.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of different outcomes. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's efficiency is driven by the incentives for traders to accurately assess the probabilities and profit from discrepancies. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Ranji Trophy match is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official match results as declared by the governing bodies of the tournament. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on the final score and officially reported statistics. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will forfeit their investment. This ensures a transparent and verifiable resolution process.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team composition, or weather forecasts impacting playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance during the match itself, such as a rapid collapse of a batting lineup or a dominant bowling spell, would also likely cause substantial price fluctuations. Furthermore, expert analysis and public opinion expressed through media coverage or social media could also play a role in shaping market dynamics. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential shifts in probabilities.
