This market refers to the cricket match between Saurashtra and Assam scheduled for October 26 2026 at 12:00 AM ET in Ranji Trophy. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market will remain open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. It's common to see this market offer odds that differ from initial sportsbook lines, particularly as the event approaches and more data emerges. Analyzing these differences can reveal insights into where the 'wisdom of the crowd' diverges from professional oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of different outcomes. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, constantly adjusting to new information and changing perceptions about the Ranji Trophy match.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Ranji Trophy match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the official result declared by the tournament organizers, reflecting whether a team wins, loses, or if the match ends in a draw. The resolution process relies on publicly available information to ensure an accurate and transparent determination of the market's outcome, based on the official match result.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in weather conditions at the match venue, or team selection announcements could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in earlier matches of the Ranji Trophy season, or even comments from team captains or coaches, might also impact the odds. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public opinion, reflected in sports news or social media, could drive trading activity and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
