In the upcoming Ranji Trophy cricket match between Punjab and Andhra, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Punjab will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Punjab. The outcome corresponding to Andhra will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Andhra. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows bettors to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of each player being the top batter. If a significant number of traders believe a player is undervalued by sportsbooks, the odds on Polymarket will likely move in that player's favor. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a substantial amount of volume is traded.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player's probability of being the top batter. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that player winning; a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance of success. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their assessments.
This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player scores the most runs in the match between Punjab and Andhra. In the event of a tie, the market will resolve based on pre-defined rules available on Polymarket. The official match scorecard will serve as the primary source of truth for determining the top batter and settling this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather forecasts impacting playing conditions could significantly shift probabilities. A strong performance by a player in a recent match might increase confidence and drive up their share price on Polymarket. Conversely, negative news or a poor showing in a previous game could lead to a decline. Pre-match analysis from cricket experts and any updates on pitch conditions are also likely to influence trading behavior.
