In the upcoming Ranji Trophy cricket match between Punjab and Andhra, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve to draw. If the match otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin for themselves, while Polymarket represents the collective wisdom of its traders. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market, as prediction markets can be more sensitive to new information and shifts in sentiment.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes of the Ranji Trophy match, and the price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of its probability. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the collective belief. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome currently has a chance percentage of 100.0%, indicating strong trader conviction behind that result. This dynamic pricing allows for a real-time assessment of expectations.
This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Ranji Trophy match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official match result as declared by the governing body of the Ranji Trophy. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on this official result, and winning traders will be paid out accordingly. It’s important to note that the outcome is determined by the actual event result, not by any pre-defined criteria within the platform itself.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in weather conditions affecting the match, or significant shifts in team form could all lead to price movements. Unexpected announcements about playing conditions or pitch reports could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, major upsets in other related matches or changes in expert analysis could cause traders to reassess their probabilities, leading to fluctuations in the market price. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential shifts in this market.
