In the upcoming Ranji Trophy cricket match between Delhi and Services, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Delhi will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Delhi. The outcome corresponding to Services will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Services. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and sentiment. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on player form, pitch conditions, or even intangible factors. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or shifts in public perception than sportsbooks, leading to notable differences in implied probabilities.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability of them being the top batter. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand, meaning that strong conviction and significant trading volume can cause rapid shifts in the odds.
This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player scores the most runs in the Delhi vs Services cricket match. The official match scorecard will serve as the definitive source for determining the top batter. Any instances of a tie will be handled according to the platform’s established rules, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to the team lineups would likely have a significant impact. Weather forecasts predicting unfavorable conditions for batting could also shift probabilities. Unexpected announcements about pitch conditions or changes to playing strategies could also cause movement. Finally, strong performances by a player in preceding matches or practice sessions might lead traders to reassess their predictions, resulting in shifts in the market’s overall pricing and volume.
