In the upcoming Ranji Trophy cricket match between Assam and Karnataka, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve to draw. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve to draw. If the match otherwise is completed without a winner, the market will resolve to draw. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and public betting patterns, this market represents the collective wisdom of informed traders who can incorporate a wider range of factors. Discrepancies can arise from differing opinions on player form, pitch conditions, or even subtle strategic advantages. It’s common to see this market diverge from sportsbook odds, especially when there’s significant uncertainty or specialized knowledge involved in predicting the result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The market’s efficiency depends on the volume of trading and the quality of information available to participants, allowing for a dynamic assessment of the match’s potential results.
This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Ranji Trophy match is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official match result as declared by the governing body for the Ranji Trophy. The market will determine whether a specific outcome occurred based on this official result, and shares will be settled accordingly. Traders should monitor official sources for the final match result to understand when and how this market will be finalized.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before the match concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes in team composition would likely cause price fluctuations. Weather forecasts, particularly if they predict adverse conditions that could favor a draw, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, early performance in the match – such as a strong batting display or a devastating bowling spell – will undoubtedly shift probabilities as traders react to the unfolding events. Unexpected tactical decisions by either team could also move the market.
