Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. When there’s disagreement, prediction markets can sometimes offer more favorable odds than sportsbooks, especially if a significant amount of volume concentrates on an outcome that sportsbooks undervalue. These differences can create arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.
