Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial odds to balance their risk, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can take the opposite position in this market, driving the price towards what they perceive as the true probability. This dynamic can lead to discrepancies, with prediction markets sometimes being more accurate than sportsbook odds, particularly closer to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective prediction. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome will drive its price up, indicating a greater perceived likelihood of that outcome. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system driven by market participants.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
