This market determines which quarterback will achieve the highest fantasy points in a specific week of the professional football season using a detailed point system that rewards various on-field performances.
Each market assesses whether a specified quarterback achieves the highest total full-PPR fantasy points for all quarterbacks in Week 5 of the 2026 Pro Football regular season. Fantasy points are calculated using Sleeper's default full-PPR scoring system, which awards points for passing, rushing, receiving, kicking, and defensive/special teams performances based on yards, touchdowns, interceptions, and other statistical categories. If a player does not participate in the week, they receive zero points. In the event of a tie for the highest points, the market resolves to 1/N, where N equals the number of tied players, and no holder receives the full $1 payout minus the Yes payout. All markets share the same scoring format and tie-resolution methodology.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and public perception, while this market allows anyone to trade contracts based on their own analysis and insights. This can lead to discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional methods, though it's not always the case. It's useful to compare both to get a broader understanding of potential outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in each quarterback’s likelihood of leading in fantasy points. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing a percentage chance of the outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a specific quarterback, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, and the current prices offer insight into the perceived probabilities of each player’s success.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the quarterback with the highest fantasy points total in NFL Week 5, as officially recorded by a major fantasy sports provider, will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on standard fantasy scoring rules, and the results will be publicly available to verify. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before resolution. Injury reports for key quarterbacks are a major catalyst, as any news regarding a player’s health could dramatically shift the odds. Changes in team matchups, such as a favorable or unfavorable defensive opponent, can also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected news regarding player performance or coaching decisions could also move the market. Finally, general public perception and analysis from sports commentators can contribute to shifts in the probabilities reflected in the market.
