Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by the collective predictions of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. If a significant discrepancy emerges between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds, arbitrage opportunities may arise, potentially driving the prices closer together. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more nuanced probabilities than simple win/loss scenarios found at sportsbooks.
