This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns each team scores through receptions in an upcoming college football game. It focuses specifically on offensive performance via the passing game, ignoring other ways players might score.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team during the Purdue vs Penn St. college football game scheduled for Oct 31, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as one where the player who catches the pass also crosses the goal line. Touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble by the intended receiver do not count, unless the receiver recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not begin within 48 hours of its scheduled start, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines which are set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or attempt to balance their risk, whereas this market aggregates the diverse perspectives of many traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – both prediction market prices and sportsbook odds will adjust. However, prediction markets often become more accurate closer to the event, potentially offering a more refined probability assessment than traditional sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices suggesting a greater likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to set accurate prices, as profitable trades depend on correctly anticipating the event’s outcome. The market depth – the number of buy and sell orders at various price points – provides insight into the level of conviction behind each potential result in the Purdue vs Penn State game.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the number of receiving touchdowns scored by Penn State during the Purdue vs Penn State football game will be used to determine the winning contract. The official game statistics, as reported by a reputable sports data provider, will serve as the basis for verification. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the data is confirmed.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Purdue or Penn State – particularly the team’s star receivers or quarterback – would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the expected scoring output. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could shift trader sentiment. Public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
