These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Purdue vs Penn St. college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets like Kalshi often reflect information beyond what’s captured in traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. If sportsbook odds show a strong lean towards one outcome, but volume in this market is more evenly distributed, it could indicate disagreement or additional information considered by prediction market traders. Keep in mind that sportsbook odds are influenced by the house edge, which isn’t a factor in a purely peer-to-peer market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price will adjust accordingly. Currently, the most actively traded contract is for the outcome of over 6.5 points scored in the second half, and the price indicates the market’s collective expectation.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Purdue vs Penn State football game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded 6.5. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be publicly available shortly after the game concludes. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Purdue or Penn State would likely cause movement, as would significant changes in weather forecasts for the game location. Unexpected coaching decisions or in-game performance during the first half could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create short-term price fluctuations, especially if they represent informed traders taking a strong position on a particular outcome.
