Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply variations in opinion. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks, as the price adjusts with each trade. Analyzing these differences can provide valuable insights into public sentiment and potential value.
