Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can buy shares, driving up the price and potentially creating a difference in implied probabilities. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially as more information becomes available closer to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about which team will score first. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts to reflect the collective prediction. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand for shares related to the event, and is not influenced by external factors or pre-determined values.
This market resolves around Oct 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the PSM Makassar vs. Persebaya Surabaya match. The official match result, as documented by recognized sports authorities, will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any potential disputes will be evaluated based on publicly available information and established sporting regulations to ensure an accurate and fair resolution of this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either PSM Makassar or Persebaya Surabaya would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, such as a recent winning or losing streak, could also impact trader sentiment. Even weather conditions on match day, or announcements about tactical changes, could move the market. Unexpected news regarding key players or coaching staff, or even public statements from team representatives, could all contribute to price fluctuations before Oct 22, 2026.
