Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Limitless, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to profit by setting odds that attract balanced betting, while prediction market traders are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets incorporating information more efficiently and reflecting the 'wisdom of the crowd' more accurately. While sportsbooks may adjust odds based on public perception, this market relies on direct financial incentives for correct predictions, potentially offering a more nuanced view of the likely result.
