Resolves Nov 3, 2026
$
This prediction group concerns which NFL player will have the most passing yards during Week 8 of the 2026-27 regular season. Markets exist on Polymarket for a large number of individual players, and on Kalshi for a selection of players.
This market will resolve in favor of the player that finishes Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season with the most passing yards. Only games designated by the NFL as Week 8 of the 2026-27 regular season count. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player with more completed passes in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player with a higher yards per passing attempt in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to "Other". If Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened or truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available NFL statistics for completed games. If Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past November 18, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which player led the NFL in passing yards within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Each market corresponds to a specific quarterback competing to achieve the highest passing yardage across all professional football games in Week 8 of the 2026 season. If the designated quarterback records the most passing yards, that market resolves to Yes. If the quarterback does not participate in any game during the week, the market resolves to No. In the event of a tie among multiple players for the highest passing yards, the payout is divided equally among all tied markets, calculated as $1 minus the Yes payout for each tied participant. The resolution hinges solely on comparative yardage statistics, with no additional performance conditions affecting the outcome.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on pre-season expectations, this market will dynamically adjust as new information emerges, such as player performance and injuries. The spread between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds can sometimes indicate mispricing or differing levels of confidence.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform has its own user base, trading dynamics, and fee structures, which can influence price discovery. Differences in liquidity – the volume of trading activity – can also lead to price discrepancies. Furthermore, the platforms may attract different types of traders; some may be more focused on short-term speculation, while others prioritize long-term investment. The varying levels of information available to traders on each platform and differing interpretations of that information can also contribute to price differences in this market.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The player with the most passing yards in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL season will be declared the winner. Official NFL statistics will be used to determine the final results, ensuring a transparent and objective resolution. Traders should monitor official NFL data releases leading up to and following the games to stay informed about the potential outcome of this market.
Numerous signals could significantly impact this market. Player injuries are a major catalyst, as the absence of a key quarterback would drastically alter the odds. Preseason performance and training camp reports will also influence trading activity. Unexpected trades or changes in coaching staff could further shift expectations. As Week 8 approaches, weather forecasts and matchup analyses will become increasingly important. Any news regarding player health, team strategy, or external factors could lead to substantial price movements in this market.
