Several factors could significantly impact this market. Player injuries are a major catalyst, as the absence of a key quarterback would drastically alter the odds. Pre-season performance and changes in team dynamics, such as new coaching hires or receiver acquisitions, could also shift expectations. Unexpected rule changes by the NFL that favor passing offenses might increase the overall number of passing touchdowns and influence which players are favored. Finally, any news related to player trades or suspensions could lead to substantial movements in the market as traders reassess probabilities.
