PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: SKU Risk - The inclusion of 'Other' and unspecified teams on Polymarket creates a potential for a different resolution outcome than the team-specific markets on Kalshi.Hero tip: Consider the possibility of an unlisted team performing well on Polymarket, which isn't accounted for in the Kalshi markets. Diversify your positions if you believe an unexpected team could lead.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Offers a market for each team, plus 'Team A', 'Team B', 'Team C', 'Team D', 'Team E', and 'Other'. Resolution is based on the team scoring the most points, with tiebreakers for offensive touchdowns and total offensive yards. If no listed team is the highest scorer, 'Other' wins.
  • Kalshi: Offers a separate market for each of the 32 NFL teams. Resolution is 'Yes' if that team scores the most points in Week 4. No 'Other' option exists.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market will resolve in favor of the team that scores the most points in Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season. Only games designated by the NFL as Week 4 of the 2026-27 regular season count. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve in favor of the tied team with more offensive touchdowns in Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the team with more total offensive yards (rushing yards plus passing yards) in Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to "Other". If Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened or truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available NFL statistics for completed games. If Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past October 21, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which team scored the most points within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Kalshi

All markets resolve based on whether the named team finishes with the highest points scored in Week 4 of the 2026-27 Pro Football regular season. If the team achieves this outcome, the market resolves to 'Yes.' In cases where multiple teams are tied for the highest score, 'Yes' positions receive a payout of $1 divided by the number of tied teams (rounded down to the nearest cent), while 'No' positions receive one minus this payout value. These rules apply uniformly across all team-specific markets, with no exceptions or additional conditions beyond the primary determination of highest-scoring status and tie-handling methodology.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while prediction markets are driven by individual forecasts and hedging strategies. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from expert opinion. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional odds, particularly when there’s significant uncertainty or information asymmetry surrounding the event.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Price discrepancies between Polymarket and Kalshi on this market can arise from several factors. Differences in trader demographics, liquidity, and market-making strategies contribute to varying price discovery processes. Polymarket may attract a different class of traders with unique information or risk appetites compared to Kalshi. Furthermore, the volume of trading on each platform—currently $6,205 overall—influences price stability and responsiveness to new information. These factors can lead to differing probabilities for the same outcome, even though both platforms address the same question regarding the highest-scoring team in Week 4 of the 2026-27 NFL season.

Numerous factors could influence trading activity in this market. Significant player injuries, coaching changes, or unexpected team performance during the early part of the 2026-27 NFL season could all shift expectations. Pre-season game results and news regarding team strategies or offensive/defensive capabilities will likely impact probabilities. Major upsets in other Week 4 games could also indirectly affect the perceived value of different teams. Any news that alters the perceived scoring potential of teams will likely cause movement in this market.
