Description

This market will resolve according to the team that remains without a single win the longest during the 2026-27 NFL regular season. Ties do not count as wins. If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed team to be the last team remaining without a win, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams earn their first win on the same day, or if multiple teams finish the 2026-27 NFL regular season without a win, this market will resolve in favor of the tied team that played the most games before recording its first win, regardless of the number of ties recorded by those teams. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the tied team with the greater strength of schedule in all games, and then the tied team with the greater strength of schedule in all games played up to and including that week, as those terms are used in the NFL's official tie-breaking procedures (https://www.nfl.com/standings/tie-breaking-procedures). If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the tied team whose full team name, as listed in this market, comes first alphabetically. The "Other" option will not be considered in these tie-breaks. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 24, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or the team that remained without a win the longest cannot be determined within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL (https://www.nfl.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

This provides a comprehensive overview of how traders are assessing the likelihood of each team’s potential for a winless season.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can often differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when there's strong public sentiment or information not fully captured by sportsbook algorithms. It’s common to see this market adjust more rapidly to breaking news or unexpected developments than sportsbook odds, as the collective intelligence of traders reacts quickly to new information. However, both offer insights into the perceived probabilities of different outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a specific team will be the last to remain winless in the 2026-27 NFL season. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand; as more traders believe a team is likely to finish winless, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase. Conversely, if sentiment shifts, the price will decrease. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective forecast of all participants in the market, creating a real-time probability assessment.

This market resolves around Jan 10, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will determine which NFL team, if any, concludes the 2026-27 season without securing a single victory. The team with the worst record at the end of the regular season will be identified as the last winless team. Any ties in record will be broken according to the NFL’s official tie-breaking procedures, as publicly documented. The market will settle based on the official NFL standings as reported by authoritative sports news sources.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Early-season injuries to key players on teams considered likely contenders could shift probabilities towards those teams being more vulnerable to a winless season. Unexpected coaching changes or significant roster moves could also influence the market. Of course, actual game results will be the primary driver of price movement, with each win or loss impacting the perceived chances of teams remaining winless. Major upsets or surprising team performances will likely cause substantial shifts in the market, as traders adjust their forecasts based on the evolving landscape of the 2026-27 NFL season.
