All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds, as they aggregate the wisdom of the crowd and allow participants to financially stake their beliefs. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes move more quickly in response to breaking news or significant betting activity. It’s common to see differences in probabilities, with this market potentially offering different perspectives on the likelihood of various exact scores compared to what sportsbooks are offering. These differences can present arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of the potential outcome. The market's efficiency is driven by the incentive for traders to accurately predict the result and profit from correct assessments.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result will be the exact score of the Preston North End FC vs. West Bromwich Albion FC match as officially recorded. The market will settle to 100% for the correct exact score and 0% for all other possibilities. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout based on the final share price at resolution.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Preston North End or West Bromwich Albion would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact the perceived probabilities of different exact scores. Unexpected events during the match itself, such as early red cards or penalties, would also lead to rapid shifts in the market as traders react to the unfolding situation.
