This event is for the upcoming EFL Championship game, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026 between Preston North End FC and Sheffield United FC.
The event determines the result of the Preston vs Sheffield United professional EFL Championship soccer match originally scheduled for November 3, 2026. The market resolves based on the outcome after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time or penalty kicks. Three possible outcomes are considered: Preston win, Sheffield United win, or a tie. If the match ends in a tie after regulation time, the 'Tie' market resolves to Yes. Should the game be cancelled or rescheduled to more than 48 hours beyond the original date, the market will resolve to a fair price following the platform's guidelines. The platform explicitly states it is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
This market resolves to "YES" if the listed club wins after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalty shootouts, in the match scheduled for November 3, 2026, 19:45 UTC. Otherwise, it will resolve to "NO." If the match is postponed, this market will remain open until the match has been completed. If the match is not completed as scheduled for any reason (for example, if it is abandoned, canceled, or awarded), and an official final result is recognized by the governing body or event organizers, this market will resolve based on that result. If no official final result is recognized and no make-up match is scheduled, this market will resolve "NO." Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect a broader range of information and incentives than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks primarily aim to balance their books and profit from margins, while prediction markets incentivize participants to express their true beliefs about the outcome of this market. This can lead to differences in probabilities, particularly when significant public information exists or when there's strong sentiment driving trading activity. However, both types of odds ultimately aim to predict the same event, and arbitrage opportunities can sometimes arise between them.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi may differ due to variations in user base, trading volume, and market design. Polymarket might attract a different type of trader than Kalshi, leading to differing opinions being reflected in the prices. Additionally, the specific rules and fee structures on each platform can influence trading behavior and, consequently, the observed probabilities. Lower volume on either platform can also lead to greater price volatility and divergence, as fewer trades are needed to shift the odds significantly for this market.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on the official result of the Preston North End FC vs. Sheffield United FC match, as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders should monitor official sources for the final score to understand when this market will settle. The outcome will be determined by which team wins the match, or if the match ends in a draw.
Several signals could influence this market before it resolves around Nov 4, 2026. Key player injuries or suspensions for either Preston North End or Sheffield United would likely cause significant shifts in probabilities. Unexpected changes in team form, managerial decisions, or even weather conditions on match day could also move the market. Furthermore, any major news related to the clubs' ownership or financial stability might impact trader sentiment and, therefore, the odds. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves.
