Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets allow traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, with this market potentially offering a more accurate reflection of true expected outcomes, especially as new information emerges. It’s common to see discrepancies, as sportsbooks may prioritize balancing their book, whereas this market is driven by individual beliefs.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust based on the collective wisdom of the traders participating. The current volume traded in this market is $0.

This market resolves around Oct 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the PPA Mixed Doubles match. The winning team will determine the outcome of this market. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the result is officially announced and verified. This allows for a transparent and objective determination of the market's outcome.

Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or unexpected performance in preceding matches could shift trader sentiment. Strong performances by either Meghan Dizon / Jonathan Truong or Lacy Schneemann / Jack Sock in other tournaments leading up to the event could also impact the market.
