Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it could indicate that prediction market participants believe the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly. The current implied probabilities are shaped by the collective actions of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
