Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on new information or differing opinions. If there's a significant discrepancy, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both platforms. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news than sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders deposit collateral and buy or sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, ultimately reflecting the collective probability assigned to each player winning. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by the traders themselves, and the market’s efficiency is influenced by the volume of trading and the information available to participants. As more traders participate, the price tends to converge towards a more accurate representation of the true probability.

This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the Players Championship match between Sebastian Bialecki and Patrik Williams will determine the outcome.
